Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE MARY MEGER (nee RYBAK) Peacefully on November 6, 2008 at St. Boniface Hospital, Florence has gone to her eternal rest at the age of 77. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Holly (Raqib) of Calgary, sons Gordon (Shelley) of Winnipeg, Keith of Selkirk and the apple of her eye, her grandson Ian. Florence was predeceased by her mother and father Dmytro and Rosie Rybak and her aunt Lena Maksemchuk. Florence was born March 16, 1931 in Selkirk Manitoba and resided there her entire life. She spent her early years in Rybak's store which was run by her parents for 51 years. For a time, Florence worked as a secretary in Winnipeg then devoted her next several years to raising her family. Once the children were all in school, she worked as the secretary at Daerwood School for the next 17 years until her retirement. Florence loved to bowl and curl and was an active member of P.E.O. Chapter S. She was always ready to volunteer for social events and community causes. Florence loved to bake and looked forward to trying out new recipes on her family and friends. Florence will be sadly missed by the many friends and acquaintances she made over the years. The family would especially like to thank one of Florence's lifelong friends, Carol Olafson, for looking out for our Mom when we weren't there to do it and for sharing her grandchildren until little' Ian came along. We know she considered you a sister. Thanks also to Drs. Freed and Arora and the nursing staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their efforts. Respecting Florence's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held with interment to follow at St. Clement's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Florence's memory to the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church Box 65, 329 Clandeboye Avenue, Selkirk, Manitoba R1A 2B1. She was a fiesty lady with a big heart. She could ride the rail and get corner pins like no one I know. She shared her experience and sense of humor with us at Thursday night bowling and we will truly miss her wit and friendship. May you all remember her strength and spirit. She talked of you all many times at our bowling nights. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in the loss of your mom and grandma. - Posted by: Cori Yakiwchuk (Family) on: Nov 10, 2008
